The jar's foam pad absorbs mercury beads when pressed firmly and releases them safely into the jar's bottom when compressed against the internal freestanding perforated plate. This collection unit holds up to 4.23 oz (125 mL) of mercury.

Quickly and easily collects spilled mercury
Unscrew the lid with the foam pad and press the pad firmly onto the spill to force the mercury into the pad
After collecting the mercury, screw the lid back onto the jar where the pad will be pressed against a freestanding perforated plate to release the mercury into the bottom of the jar
