Detects and evaluates moisture conditions within various building materials by non-destructively measuring the electrical impedance by transmitting a low frequency electronic signal into the material via the electrodes in the base of the instrument. In addition, this meter determines the strength of the current and converts this to a moisture content value, displaying it on a large clear analog dial.
Features
Dual depth moisture meter
The dual depth feature of this meter makes it possible to determine where the moisture is located within the material. The shallow-depth readings, up to ⅜" (10 mm), and deep-depth readings, up to ¼" (30 mm), can be used to compare surface moisture and core moisture and eliminate the influence of the substrate when testing coverings.
This general moisture meter detects moisture through paint, wallpaper, drywall, ceramic tiles, floor coverings, wood, ceiling tiles, roofing membranes, and asphalt composition shingles and makes it the best moisture meter for testing in, through and behind a wide range of building materials.
How it works
The moisture encounter detects and evaluates moisture conditions within various building materials by non-destructively measuring the electrical impedance. A low frequency electronic signal is transmitted into the material via the electrodes in the base of the instrument. The strength of this signal varies in proportion to the amount of moisture in the material under test. It determines the strength of the current and converts this to a moisture content value, displaying it on a large clear analog dial.
Moisture mapping and data documentation
Moisture readings can be visualized with the Meters App and turned into moisture maps, reports and charts for sharing. Bluetooth connectivity to mobile devices also helps to GeoTag test results, create, save and share photos.
Applications
One app for all
The Meters app is now your one go-to App for all Bluetooth devices – 5-Series moisture meters and feedback dataloggers. The Meters app has numerous features, including those in previous apps, such as the Feedback Datalogger app and the Moisture Mapping app.
Visualize your readings
On pairing any of your 5-series moisture meters to the Meters App, the meter readings appear larger on the App device and allow for easy visualization of measurements when using the optional extension handle while testing those hard to reach places.
Photograph and geo-tag your meter readings
Moisture map your readings
View different charts
In addition, you can also view a thermal condition chart and a psychrometric chart. This allows for visible and recordable logged data for both ambient and in-situ conditions to be documented.
Share your reports
With the Cloud system, you can open your reports in your browser on any device, laptop or tablet of your choice. Your reports can be easily shared with others. It may be beneficial to have a record to show that you have carried out all the necessary steps to ensure a successful completion of your project.
